The Legacy of Phrecia event in Path of Exile is a 30-day challenge, meaning players have limited time to experiment with the 19 brand-new Ascendancy Classes. With so many exciting mechanics to explore, choosing the right class and build from the start is crucial - you won’t have time to test them all!
Some Ascendancies are clear winners for raw power, efficiency, and progression speed, while others shine in unique or niche playstyles. Whether you want to push the event ladder, farm efficiently, or just have fun, picking a top-tier build will maximize your experience in this limited-time event.
This Tier List ranks the best builds for each new Ascendancy, helping you make an informed choice so you can jump straight into the action with confidence. Whether you prefer Minions, Melee playstyle, Spell-slinging, or tanky brawlers, we’ve got the best options lined up for you. The list below only covers the basics, and if you want to find out more details about each Ascendency - check out this Article.
Let’s break down which builds dominate and which ones might not be worth your time in Legacy of Phrecia!

In this Tier you will find builds that you can't exactly go wrong with. Any of these Ascendencies will work great on the most popular builds you can expect on an event with Limited Durations. All are great for Lightning Arrow (or other swift Bow) builds and all types of Wanders. Surfcaster is based on raw Speed and Self-chill effects, Prophet is kind of a Deadeye with built-in NImis, and Daughter of Oshabi will be able to scale Shrine buffs to some insane levels. Scavenger, on the other hand, offers more flexibility, and will surely work amazing on a wider variety of builds.

Many of the builds in this Tier could surely find themselves in the S one, but they are more polarized on more specialized builds. Bog Shaman and Architect of Chaos look most promising and have the highest potential, but the won't work as well early on and will need more investments. Servant of Arakaali and Puppeteer are two amazing Minion classes, Ancestral Commander is the tankiest Ascendency in the game, and Herald will be very fun to play with the greatly increased effect of the already quite powerful Skills

Classes in this Tier are all really strong, but they aren't that easy to find the one niche they will surely excel in, and they kind of struggle to find their true identity. The most promising from our perspective is the Aristocrat which is somewhat based on the Gemmling Leggionaire from Path of Exile 2 - centered around increasing the level and Quality of Gems, Attributes, and a number of Skill Points. It will be particularly powerful for the Attribute Stacking archetype, possibly one that uses Widowhail and the Poised Prism Quiver - but surely the 30 day timeframe may not be long enough to consider such an expensive setup.

Unfortunately, Ascendencies in this bracket are bad. Behemoth is required to disable all Spells by default; including Auras, Curses, Banners, and Berserk (?!) making it the worst class of them all. Gambler just feels too inconsistent with not many actual DPS buffs, with just a few interesting defensive Passives, while Paladin appears to be a purely Support/Tanky character - not something you want to build on an Event like this, with so many exciting options to try out. Antiquarian doesn't look that bad, but building a character around Ward or some defensive/utility bonuses doesn't seem easy enough to find it a good pick either. |
