Blizzard Sorceress Magic Find Build for D2R

Blizzard Sorceress Magic Find Build for D2R

One of the best setups in terms of Magic Find for the Sorceress

Blizzard Sorceress
Magic Finding Build

For Diablo 2 Resurrected

-Build created

Build Overview

It is not a surprise that Blizzard Sorceress is among the most popular Diablo 2 Resurrected Magic Finding builds. It's extremely powerful right from the start, can farm Hell Mephisto for early gear like no other build, and scales were well into the late game. It can farm in pretty much all level 85 areas without too much of a problem. Moreover, unlike its sister, the Lightning Sorceress, MF Blizzard Sorc can easily stack Magic Find without gimping itself. When it comes to Magic Finding, Blizzard Sorceress is a true jack of all trades.

The following Blizzard Sorceress Magic Finding build was designed for efficient farming in any of the level 85 areas on high /Players difficulty settings. It can defeat packs of powerful monsters very easily thanks to the combination of high Cold Damage and freeze effects that come with it. While its clear speeds are not the highest, it more than makes up for it with amazing mobility, solid survivability, and second to none Crowd Control.

 Pros  Cons
 High AoE Damage   Mana-Hungry
Solid Crowd Control    Needs expensive gear to show its full potential
Great Mobility and Survivability  Clear Speeds are not the highest
 Easily breaks Cold Resistances

Skills

ATTRIBUTES
  1. Strength - All you want, in terms of Strength, is enough of it to equip everything you will want to use on your character.
  2. Dexterity - Same as with Strength; you only need enough Dexterity to meet gear requirements.
  3. Vitality - You should put all your remaining points here - main stat.
  4. Energy - Adding points to Energy is an extreme waste - don't do it.
COLD SPELLS

Cold Spells skill tree is one of the most powerful trees in the entire game (in our opinion). It not only allows you to deal substantial amounts of AoE Damage right from the start but also offers solid crowd control which is extremely helpful when farming in level 85 areas. There are multiple ways you can approach it, for this build we've chosen the Blizzard variant.

Skills:

  1. Frozen Armor [1/20] - Gives us a solid defensive boost and freezes any melee attached that hits us. 1 point is definitely worth spending here, especially when you have a lot of + skills from gear.
  2. Ice Bolt [20/20] - Fires a bolt of ice that slows and damages the target. Every point spent on Ice Bolt boosts Blizzard's Cold Damage by 5%, thus, you should max it out.
  3. Frost Nova [1/20] - Prerequisite. Creates an expanding ring of ice and frost that damages and slows enemies.
  4. Ice Blast [20/20] - An upgraded version of Ice Blast that Freezes the target in place and damages it. Another Blizzard synergy skill that also boosts its damage by 5% ber level - max it out.
  5. Glacial Spike [20/20] - A shard of ice that inflicts massive Cold damage and explodes to freeze nearby enemies. Yet another Blizzard synergy skill you should max out.
  6. Blizzard [20/20] - Summons an ice storm to rain cold death onto your enemies. This is a very powerful AoE Spell that deals Cold Damage and freezes all affected enemies. With this, you will be able to quickly take care of packs of enemies while keeping a safe distance and controlling their movements.
  7. Cold Mastery [X/20] - Reduces Cold Resistance of your Enemies. This Passive Skill makes you much more versatile by ensuring that you deal good damage to monsters that are normally very resistant to Cold. You should spend enough points on it to have 25 total levels, however, if you'd like to use this build for PvP as well maxing it out might be a good idea.
FIRE SPELLS

From here, you'll get some extra mana regen, which is nice.

Skills:

  1. Warmth [1/20] - A passive skill that increases your Mana Regeneration rate. Warmth is always worth taking and thus you'll see it in pretty much every Sorceress build regardless of its core specialization.
LIGHTNING SPELLS

From here, you will get two amazing utility skills. Teleport which turns the Sorceress into a queen of battlefield mobility, and Static Field that works wonders against Bosses and other high health monsters.

Skills:

  1. Static Field [1/20] - All enemies in a given radius lose 1/4 of their health. Every point invested into Static Field increases its area of influence. This skill is extremely helpful when fighting against high health monsters as it effectively deals 25% of enemies' health as damage to them. 1 Point here is usually enough, but you can spend more if you feel like you need additional range.
  2. Telekinesis [1/20] - Prerequisite. Allows you to pick up items, trigger objects, and attack others at a distance. You can find surprisingly creative uses for this spell, but it's mostly a gimmick.
  3. Teleport [1/20] - Instantly moves you to a destination within your line of sight. This is the best mobility Spell in Diablo 2 Resurrected and it will allow you to travel at amazing speeds.

Items

With this build, you should focus your gear around extra Magic Find that is going to make farming much more efficient, +Skills which are going to help with clear speeds, and Faster Cast Rate that will make you much more dynamic (63 FCR is a bare minimum you should get). Another thing that is needed for this build is Mana, so you should prioritize items that provide it (both Mana increases and Mana regens are welcome). Faster Run/Walk and extra Stamina/Stamina Regen are also very useful to have as they will boost your overall mobility. Moreover, anything that can boost your survivability (Life, Faster Hit Recovery, Block Rate, Resistances, etc.) is quite welcome.

HELMETS

Harlequin Crest (Shako) - You can't go wrong with Shako in a Magic-Finding build and thus it's the first item we'd recommend for this Blizzard Sorceress. It will give you a nice boost to survivability, MF, and damage.

Harlequin Crest

  • Defense: 98 to 141
  • Required Level: 62
  • Required Strength: 50

    • 50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
    • +2 to All Attributes

Nightwing's Veil (Spired Helm) - This powerful Helmet offers the highest possible DPS boost but no bonuses to Magic Find. You could still try getting some sockets on it and put extra Ists for the MF, but the same goes for Shako.

Nightwing's Veil

  • Defense: 304-352
  • Required Level: 67
  • Required Strength: 96
  • Durability: 40
    • +2 to All Skills

WEAPONS

Death's Fathom (Dimensional Shard) - This is an undisputed top choice for Damage. If you can afford one that has +30 Cold Damage, your DPS will simply skyrocket.

Death's Fathom

The Oculus (Swirling Crystal) - This amazing Class weapon provides +3 to Sorc Skill Levels, a lot of FCR, some Resistances, and Attributes, but, most importantly, it boasts a +50% Chance of Getting Magic Items. A solid choice if you're after more MF.

    • 50% Better Chance Of Getting Magic Items

Heart of the Oak (Runeword) - If you have this one lying around, you can use it on a Blizzard Sorceress. It's nowhere near as good as Death's Fathom, but it will do the job just fine with its +3 all Skills, high FCR, amazing Resistances, and Mana Leech.

WEAPON SWAP

Call to Arms (Runeword) - This powerful Runeword will allow you to pre-buff yourself up with Warcries (buffs persist through weapon swap). You should combine this with a Shield that gives +2 to All Skills for the best effect.

Call to Arms

AMULETS

Mara's Kaleidoscope - This powerful end-game Amulet provides a great combination of offensive (+2 to all skills) and defensive (+20-30 to all resistances) properties. It's rather expensive but definitely worth the price.

Mara's Kaleidoscope

  • Required Level: 67
    • +2 To All Skills
    • All Resistances +30
    • +5 To All Attributes

Tal Rasha's Adjudication - An amazing Amulet that will boost your Life, Mana, and Skills. Unlike the two other Tal Rasha's set pieces we recommend for this build, the Tal Amulet is actually well-worth using over the alternatives even if you won't run other set parts.

Tal Rasha's Adjudication

  • Required Level: 67
    • +2 to Sorceress Skill Levels
    • Adds 3-32 Lightning Damage
    • +50 to Life

    • +10% Faster Cast Rate (4 Items)
  • 3 Items Set Bonus:
    • 65% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

ARMORS

Chains of Honor (Runeword) - This is a great choice for any Sorceress build and you can't go wrong with it, especially if you need some extra Resistances, Defenses, and Skills. CoH also makes it easier to equip heavy gear by providing +20 Strength (this also boosts your survivability indirectly as it allows you to spend more points on Vitality). And it makes you a bit better at Magic Finding.

Chains of Honor

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor
  • Required Level: 63
  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor

    • All Resistances +65
    • Physical Damage Taken Reduced by 8%
    • 25% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Enigma (Runeword) - Recommending Enigma for a Sorceress feels a bit weird, but you have to remember that this Armor is not only about the Teleport. It's also about + Skills, Faster Run/Walk, Extra Strength, Damage Reduction, and very high Magic Find. You can't go wrong with it, even on a Sorceress.

Enigma

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor
  • Required Level: 65
  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor
  • Durability: Depends on base Armor
  • Jah + Ith + Ber

    • +14 Life After Each Kill
    • 15% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
    • (1*Clvl)% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (Based On Character Level)

Tal Rasha's Guardianship (Lacquered Plate) - If you want to take your Magic Finding to a higher level, you should go for 3 parts of the Tal Rasha's Set (doing so will grant you 65% additional MF). Tal Rasha's Armor is a good defensive item by itself, but the set bonus makes it great for magic finding on a Sorceress.

Tal Rasha's Guardianship

Note: Only use it if you plan on running 3 pieces of the Tal Rasha's Set.

  • Defense: 833-941
  • Required Level: 71
  • Required Strength: 84
  • Durability: 55

    • +10% Faster Cast Rate (2 Items)
  • 3 Items Set Bonus:
    • 65% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

RINGS

The Stone of Jordan - You can't go wrong with double SoJ in this build. A pair of these will give you 50% extra mana and a nice boost to DPS.

The Stone of Jordan

  • Required Level: 29
    • +1 to All Skills
    • Increase Maximum Mana by 25%
    • Adds 1-12 Lightning Damage
    • +20 to Mana

Nagelring - This cheap and very easy to farm (from Nightmare Andariel) Ring ring can give you up to 30% extra Magic Find and some damage taken reduction. Other than that, it's rather mediocre for a caster. Nevertheless, if you plan on stacking as much MF as you can, you should use two of these.

Nagelring

  • Required Level: 7
    • +[50-75] to Attack Rating (varies)
    • Magic Damage Taken Reduced by 3
    • Attacker Takes Damage of 3

GLOVES

Magefist (Light Gauntlets) - These gloves are extremely solid for the build as they give you a high Mana Regen boost and 20% FCR. If you want Cold Resistance more than Mana Regen, you can use Trang-Oul's Claws instead.

Magefist

  • Required Strength: 45

    • Regenerate Mana 25%

Chance Guards (Chain Gloves) - If you feel like you don't need the Mana Regen offered by Magefists and you've reached your desired FCR breakpoint, Chance Guards are a great MF choice.

Chance Guards

  • Defense: 67-74
  • Required Level: 45
  • Required Strength: 58
  • Durability: 16
    • +20-30% Enhanced Defense (varies)

    • 30-50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Sandstorm Trek (Scarabshell Boots) - From these Unique Boots, you'll get a lot of Faster Hit Recovery, Attributes, and Poison Resistance. If you feel like you don't need more Magic Find, you can definitely go with these defense-oriented classics.

Sandstorm Trek

    • Attacker Takes Damage of 2
    • Repairs 1 Durability in 20 Seconds

BELTS

Arachnid Mesh (Spiderweb Sash) - Arachnid Mesh is amazing for any caster build. It not only boosts your Skills but also gives you much-needed increases to Faster Cast Rate and Mana.

Arachnid Mesh

  • Defense: 119-138
  • Required Level: 80
  • Required Strength: 50
  • Durability: 12
  • 16 Potion Boxes
    • +90-120% Enhanced Defense
    • Slows Target By 10%

    • +20% Faster Cast Rate
    • Increases Maximum Mana 5%
    • Level 3 Venom (11 Charges)

Tal Rasha's Fine-Spun Cloth (Mesh Belt) - This versatile belt is solid by itself, but combining it with other Tal Rasha's set parts really makes it shine. When used in a combination with two other parts of the set, Tal Belt will improve your MF, Faster Cast Rate, and Mana.

Tal Rasha's Fine-Spun Cloth

Note: Only use it if you plan on running 3 pieces of the Tal Rasha's Set.

  • Defense: 95-100
  • Required Level: 53
  • Required Strength: 47
  • Durability: 16
  • 16 Potion Boxes

    • Requirements -20%
    • +60 Defense (2 Items)
    • +10% Faster Cast Rate (3 Items)
  • 3 Items Set Bonus:
    • 65% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

CHARMS

  1. Gheed's Fortune -  The secret to Gheed's wealth and prosperity. Pretty much a must-have if you're after the best available charms. It adds 80-160% extra gold from monsters, reduces vendor prices by up to 15%, and gives up to 40% better magic find.
  2. Grand Charms - You can boost your DPS by getting a couple of these with + Cold Spells.
  3. Large Charms -  Using Large Charms in D2R is not recommended, with the exception of Hellfire Torch.
  4. Small Charms - With these, you should get as much Magic Find as you can. Small Charms give up to 7 MF each, so getting a full inventory of them is going to significantly boost your Magic Finding capabilities. 7-percenters are quite expensive, but you can get 5 and 6-percenters relatively cheaply.

MERCENARY

We recommend picking up Act 2 Might Mercenary for extra damage (while Might Aura does not affect your Damage, it will make your Merc more powerful). He should be equipped with:

  1. Insight Rune Word in Ethereal Spear - This provides a Meditation Aura that increases our Mana Recovery Rate which is extremely helpful. Infinity is another option but we are of the opinion that Cold Mastery does its job, making it obsolete for this particular build.
  2. Fortitude Rune Word in Armor - This will ensure that your merc doesn't die (it will make him almost immortal).
  3. Andariel's Visage - An extremely solid and versatile headgear that will make your merc better in all respects.
