Move in, build Rage, let the icy blades fly. Our Rehan 2 Frost Spike build gives aggressive players plenty to master.Frost Spike Rehan 2 Build - Torchlight: Infinite
Last Update: October 21, 2026
Introduction

Hero: Berserker Rehan
Hero Trait: Seething Silhouette (Rehan 2)
Main Skill: Frost Spike
Damage: Cold Attack, Frostbite and Shadows
Season: SS14 Tartarus
A trail of frozen enemies is all that Frost Spike Rehan 2 usually leaves behind. He has the rare privilege of keeping up his assault while rushing between packs, turning a conventional melee attack into a wonderfully fluid mapping skill. Each thrust sends out Icy Blades, and those blades become nastier as the target accumulates Frostbite.
Our version leans into three complementary ideas: steady Frostbite application, hard-hitting Shadows, and movement-powered attacks. That combination creates a practical bridge from ordinary rares to carefully crafted equipment, with no need to rebuild the entire character around expensive secondary skills. Seething Silhouette supplies the berserker framework; Frost Spike does most of the fighting.
We put particular emphasis on Rushed, Joined Force, Extreme Coldness and Falling Leaves in the talent trees. A high-damage main-hand weapon carries the offence, while an efficient off-hand and Frostbite-oriented jewellery complete the package. The result is designed for repeatable Timemark 7-8 farming and offers further room to grow once tougher encounters begin exposing gaps in damage or recovery.
Pros
- Excellent mobility and continuous attacks while crossing a map
- Clear Frostbite breakpoints for measurable upgrades
- Focused Cold setup with several affordable equipment options
- Shadows add useful reach during tougher encounters
Cons
- Melee range leaves less time to react to dangerous boss attacks
- Frozen-target bonuses can lose value against resistant bosses

1. Hero Traits and Memories
Choose Seething Silhouette, Rehan's second Hero Trait. The early story of the build is Rage and Berserk, with the Spirit contributing additional attacks when the relevant traits become available. The Hero Trait package is an established part of the character; our customization comes primarily from Frostbite, support skills, talents and gearing.

| Stage | Trait Direction | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Seething Silhouette | Establishes Rage and the berserker's moving-attack identity. |
| Level 45 | Fury's Onslaught | Improves the Spirit and offensive rhythm as the build enters Netherrealm. |
| Level 60 | Growing Anger | Develops the trait's combat loop and additional damage opportunities. |
| Level 75 | Rage Infusion | Expands Spirit-related attacks and supports continued Rage investment. |
For memories, prioritize pieces that improve the active Seething Silhouette interactions, Shadow effectiveness and compatible Cold attacks. A beautiful-looking roll on a memory is worthless if its modifier belongs to a different Rehan specialization. During the first mapping tiers, simple functional memories and a good weapon can carry the character further than an expensive, poorly matched upgrade.
2. Our Talent Trees
The following distribution is our Frostbite / moving-attack variant. It deliberately keeps Ronin as the fourth tree through the endgame and uses different major talents from a generic projectile-count or multi-skill damage setup. The numbers describe a 115-point target budget. Small-node positions must be matched to their paths in the in-game talent screen before screenshots are finalized.

| Talent Tree | Target | Key Choices and Small Nodes |
|---|---|---|
| Goddess of Hunting | 24 | Perception at 12; Rushed at 24. Take useful movement, attack speed and life/ES nodes on the route. Perception starts Agility Blessing generation; Rushed rewards moving over 5m recently. |
| Bladerunner | 24 | Joined Force at 24. Seek dual-wield attack damage, attack speed and recovery. The off-hand adds part of its damage to the main-hand rather than making separate attacks. |
| Prophet | 36 | Extreme Coldness at 24. Put remaining points into Cold Damage, Frostbite Effect, Maximum Frostbite Rating, Cold Penetration and enough survivability. |
| Ronin | 31 | Falling Leaves at 24. Prefer Shadow Quantity, Attack Damage, Attack Speed, Regain and Life/ES nodes; the substantial attack bonus carries a weapon-damage trade-off. |
Why these four choices?
Rushed is especially appealing on a hero who attacks while moving. The usual Projectile Quantity route contributes less to Frost Spike's fixed Icy Blade count. Joined Force makes dual wielding more deliberate: invest heavily in the main weapon's usable damage and let the off-hand contribute through the talent. Extreme Coldness raises the maximum Frostbite Rating while restricting your damage to Cold, a natural condition for Frost Spike's physical-to-cold conversion. Finally, Falling Leaves adds Attack Damage without Ronin's alternative dual-wield Block penalty.
3. Active Skills and Supports
Our core links remain usable from the first Netherrealm tiers. As currency becomes available, the seasonal Frost Spike-specific supports offer interesting ways to deepen the build without rewriting its main skill.

[DPS] Frost Spike
This attack delivers the initial thrust and sends Icy Blades through nearby targets. Our primary setup focuses on applying Frostbite consistently while allowing the Shadows to contribute useful follow-up hits.
Glacial Freeze ensures Frostbite can be applied by Cold hits; Added Physical Damage benefits from the skill's conversion. Haunt supports Shadow Quantity. This differs from a generic all-out physical damage link and keeps Frostbite available throughout progression.

[Movement] Spiral Strike
A quick route into the next group and a way across awkward map geometry. Let ordinary movement keep Rushed active, then use Spiral Strike when the gap genuinely needs closing.

[Buff] Bull's Rage
Add a burst of offensive pressure before sturdy rares or a boss phase. Its timing matters more than maintaining a complicated permanent rotation.

[Curse] Biting Cold
A focused Cold-damage curse for elites and bosses. It has additional value if you choose Broken Dream, which applies Cold Infiltration to enemies affected by Biting Cold.

[Recovery] Life Tonic
Your emergency button against harder Timemark encounters. Having a reliable recovery skill improves farming efficiency more than one extra movement skill when your damage is already adequate.
4. Passive Skills and Auras
Frost Spike is both a melee attack and a projectile skill, which makes aura choices less obvious than their tooltips suggest. We start with a Cold-damage foundation and favor the melee portion early. Later you can pivot toward more projectile coverage or add an attack aura if your reservation budget permits.

[Core Focus] Ice Focus
Provides additional Cold Damage and builds Focus through hits against Frostbitten enemies. Its Ice Storm is supplementary Spell Cold Damage; Frost Spike remains our primary attack damage source.

[Main Attack Aura] Fearless
Boosts Melee skill damage and critical scaling. It is an attractive first offensive aura because the thrust and Shadow skill maintain the Melee tag.

[Later Upgrade] Cruelty
Adds an Attack Damage multiplier that grows during combat. Switch into it, or fit it as an additional aura after improving Sealed Mana compensation.

[Alternative] Precise Projectiles
Improves the projectile portion of Frost Spike. This can be a strong swap in blade-heavy setups, but some of the build's damage still comes from the melee thrust; compare it with Fearless on real bosses.
5. Leveling and Progression
Campaign: start with a preferred attack
Rehan 2 unlocks Frost Spike at level 21. Earlier on, use whichever strong melee attack your early equipment can support; Groundshaker is a simple bridge. Begin collecting suitable one-handed weapons with physical damage. Your first priority is a responsive main attack, followed by a movement skill and enough Life to survive mistakes.
T1-T6: establish the Cold loop
Start Frost Spike with Added Physical Damage and Glacial Freeze, adding Haunt and travel support as Skill Energy opens up. Equip Ice Focus as soon as the reservation is comfortable. At this stage, a stronger physical main-hand weapon and a functional dual-wield setup usually do more than a scattering of cheap legendaries.
T7: lock in the major talents
Work toward Joined Force and Extreme Coldness, and keep Biting Cold ready for tougher enemies. Your attack should now maintain the Frostbite needed for the 30/60 Rating bonuses. Raise resistances, secure recovery and measure clear speed over repeated maps. A good farming rhythm is an asset in its own right.
T8: invest in Frostbite rather than random multipliers
Build toward Rushed, Joined Force, Extreme Coldness and Falling Leaves. Consider Broken Dream alongside Biting Cold; Varagon's Lament becomes appealing once its Frostbite and Cold Infiltration properties are useful. Acquire Frost Spike: Offshoot only when the skill is already working smoothly and you can exploit a higher Frostbite ceiling.
Profound: specialize selectively
Choose between stronger dual-wield weapon crafts, critical-related attack rolls and a sturdier defensive package. Frozen-target support gems are excellent on suitable maps but less dependable for bosses. Use your real boss kill time to decide whether a special support has earned the slot.
6. Gear Setup
Frost Spike rewards physical weapon damage converted to Cold, Frostbite and a healthy amount of Attack Speed. Our equipment prioritizes the 30/60 Rating breakpoints, strong dual-wield foundations and predictable survival. You can begin with rare items in every slot and upgrade individually once your next need is clear.
- Elemental Resistances, sufficient Life or Energy Shield, and reliable recovery
- Strong main-hand weapon physical damage and compatible Attack Skill Levels
- Cold Damage, Attack Speed and useful critical modifiers
- Reliable Frostbite application, Frostbite Effect and Maximum Frostbite Rating
- Shadow Quantity and other bonuses affecting the actual main skill
- Resistance reduction / Cold Infiltration from compatible curses or equipment

Weapons - High-physical one-handed Sword, Claw or Dagger
A properly rolled main-hand rare is our most important damage item. Look for strong gear Physical Damage, Attack Speed and useful Attack Skill Level or critical affixes. Joined Force means the off-hand contributes a share of its weapon damage to the main hand; a cost-effective off-hand with good raw damage is often preferable to chasing two equally expensive perfect weapons.
Upgrade path: Upgrade the main hand first, then replace the off-hand when its extra weapon damage beats your current alternative.

Body Armour - Varagon's Lament / Defensive Rare
Varagon's Lament provides Life, Cold Resistance, Maximum Frostbite Rating and Cold Infiltration once the target has enough Frostbite. Those bonuses support our whole damage plan and make it an especially persuasive midgame upgrade. A sturdy rare remains an acceptable choice if Varagon's Lament forces too many defensive sacrifices.
Upgrade path: Use it after the Frostbite loop is active; its standard Cold Infiltration needs 60 Rating, while the stronger corroded version changes that threshold.

Amulet - Broken Dream / Rare Cold Amulet
Broken Dream adds Life and Maximum Frostbite Rating; its more interesting property inflicts Cold Infiltration on targets cursed by Biting Cold. That creates a deliberate link between equipment and an active skill. If your armor or other effects already provide sufficient Infiltration, a crafted rare amulet with defenses and relevant Cold or attack modifiers may give more overall value.
Upgrade path: Do not pay a premium for duplicate Infiltration without checking how the effects interact and whether the rare alternative is stronger.

Rings - Restless Glacier + Defensive or Offensive Rare
One Restless Glacier gives Intelligence, Cold Resistance, Maximum Frostbite Rating and the chance for Frozen enemies to explode when defeated. It is a particularly appealing mapping item. Keep the other slot flexible for missing resistances, Life, critical stats and Attack Speed if available. Two copies are an option for further Frostbite investment, not a mandatory starting configuration.
Upgrade path: If bosses are the bottleneck, a good rare ring may beat the explosion effect that shines mainly during clearing.

Helmet - Defensive Rare with Life / Energy Shield
A rare helmet solves early survival without dictating the rest of your build. Seek sufficient Life or Energy Shield, missing resistances and any efficient Attack or Cold modifiers you can obtain. Exotic endgame helmets can wait until you know exactly which interaction requires them.

Gloves - Rare Attack Speed and Survivability
Use gloves to add Attack Speed, critical-related modifiers where appropriate, and Life or Energy Shield. They are a reliable place to repair resistance gaps created by your weapon and chest choices. Rehan's Shadows reward sustained attack opportunities, so attack responsiveness is worth preserving.

Belt - Rare Defensive Utility
Prioritize Life or Energy Shield, resistances and recovery. Resist the urge to sacrifice this slot for a tiny offensive improvement if it breaks the defensive foundation you need to stay close to enemies.

Boots - Movement Speed and Resistances
Movement Speed is a practical damage stat when Rushed rewards recent travel. Look for a pair with enough speed to stay mobile and sufficient defenses to survive uncomfortable map modifiers. Specialized boots are a luxury once your routing and recovery are already reliable.
7. Pactspirits, Followers and Endgame Choices
Seek bonuses that actually improve Cold attacks, Shadow performance or survival. A lower-rarity Pactspirit with useful damage and defensive bonuses may contribute more to this setup than an expensive companion chosen solely for its popularity.
Prioritize compatible Seething Silhouette mechanics and effects that strengthen your attack while moving. Additional Shadows and relevant attack damage are strong candidates, although their real value depends on the memory slot and available rolls.
Followers can add utility, ailments or defensive help. Our core setup does not require them to maintain three unrelated ailments; Frostbite is generated directly through the main skill and its supports. A reliable defensive Follower is a reasonable first choice.
Use slates to reinforce Cold, Frostbite, attack speed or the build's defensive pool. Avoid forcing a Strength-stacking or multi-elemental setup into this character without rebuilding its talent and gear package.
Final Thoughts
Frost Spike Rehan 2 is at his best when the battlefield barely slows him down. We build around that feeling: movement powers Rushed, the main weapon anchors Joined Force, and repeated icy strikes drive Frostbite toward the skill's most important thresholds. Shadows contribute extra coverage while Cold-focused skills and equipment keep the whole character working toward the same goal.
The expensive endgame has plenty of interesting toys, but the first successful build milestone is simpler: a reliable Frost Spike, enemies consistently reaching the right Frostbite Rating, and enough durability to keep farming.
