DIABLO 4 CONSUMABLES
Within the landscapes of Diablo 4, a vast array of consumables await discovery. These valuable items provide a vital lifeline, bolstering the prowess of adventurers and granting them temporary advantages in battle. At the heart of the consumable ecosystem lies the Alchemist, an invaluable NPC who grants adventurers the power to create a variety of potent concoctions. Whether it's enhancing the healing potential of a basic Healing Potion or crafting Elixirs and Incenses to bolster various attributes, the Alchemist becomes a crucial ally for players striving to maximize their potential with consumables.
HEALING POTION
The most important and used consumable is the Healing Potion. It serves as a reliable source of recovery, replenishing a portion of the player's health pool at a critical moment. It restores a set amount of Life upon use, and 35% of maxium Life over the next 3 seconds. The availability and effectiveness of healing potions can be enhanced through various means. The most impactful method is to upgrade the Potion itself.
Upon reaching Level 10, adventurers are presented with a Priority Quest objective, guiding them to the Alchemist's awaiting in Kyovashad. Here, the journey towards upgrading the Healing Potions begins, starting with the base Weak Healing Potion to a more potent Tiny Healing Potion.
As characters progress and reach higher levels, the potential of Healing Potions can be further enhanced. Upgrades require a combination of gold and resources, obtained by gathering flowers and completing side-quests.

GEMS
Gems are a vastly different kind of consumable, as they are not gone after the first use, but you will need to pick up many of them during your journey to fulfill all your gear Sockets.
Gems are valuable and powerful items that can be Socketed into equipment to enhance the abilities and attributes of characters. These gems are precious stones imbued with mystical energies, and each gem possesses unique properties that provide various bonuses and effects to the character who equips them.
Gems in Diablo 4 come in different types, each corresponding to a specific attribute or aspect of gameplay. For example, there are gems that enhance offensive capabilities, such as increasing Overpower Damage or Critical Hit Damage. Other Gems focus on defensive aspects, providing bonuses to armor, resistance against elemental damage, or even maximum Life. The first Season, Malignant, also introduced a new type of Gems that can grant particularly powerful and unique abilities, often altering the whole gameplay.
To acquire gems, players can find them as loot dropped by defeated enemies, discover them in hidden caches, or obtain them through trading with other players. Gems can also be extracted from equipment that has been previously socketed with a gem, allowing players to reuse or upgrade their gems as they progress through the game.
Socketing gems into equipment requires finding or acquiring items with available sockets. The number of sockets available on an item may vary, with some items having multiple sockets, allowing players to customize their equipment further and stack multiple gem effects. You can also use Rare Material called Scattered Prisms which can be obtained during End-game activities such as completing Events, participating in World Bosses, or just killing Elite Enemies in Dungeons.
There are seven types of gems, each with distinct properties and effects when socketed into different equipment slots. These gems can be utilized in weapons, armor, and jewelry to provide unique benefits that enhance a character's abilities in various ways.
All gems currently have 5 Tiers: Crude, Chipped, Normal, Flawless, and Royal. To be able to use them, you will need a character level 15, 20, 40,50, and 60, respectively. To upgrade Gem to the next Tier, you shall go to The Jeweler NPC. You will need 3 Gems of the same type and a bunch of Gold to make 1 Gem of a higher Tier. It is speculated that there will be more Tiers in the upcoming patches, but at this moment it is not confirmed by the game developers. The Royal Gems have roughly twice the effects of Crude Gems.

ELIXIRS AND INCENSES
While the Healing Potion remains a vital component of a character's survival kit, the Alchemist's offerings extend beyond it. Adventurers are presented with a range of consumables, including elixirs and Incenses. These additional options provide opportunities to customize and enhance various aspects of a character's performance and overall effectiveness. Elixirs and incenses are essential consumable items that provide various benefits to players as they venture through the dark and treacherous world of Sanctuary.
Elixirs are potent potions that can be ingested by characters to gain specific buffs or advantages. These elixirs are typically crafted using a combination of rare and valuable ingredients found throughout the game world. Each elixir has a unique effect, ranging from increased damage output, enhanced resistance to certain types of damage, improved movement speed, heightened critical hit chance, or accelerated health and mana regeneration. These temporary enhancements can greatly impact a player's effectiveness in battle, making elixirs valuable assets in difficult encounters or challenging quests. Every Elixir also increases your Exp gain, so it's important to always have them active, even if the other bonus it provides is negligible. Elixirs last for 30 minutes and expire if you log out from your character.
Both elixirs and incenses can be obtained through various means in the game, including looting from defeated enemies, discovering hidden caches, or acquiring them from skilled craftsmen and merchants. Additionally, players can engage in the art of alchemy or seek out rare ingredients to craft their own elixirs or incenses, tailoring their effects to suit their preferred playstyle or to counter specific threats they may face.
