Lightning Fury Javazon Magic Find D2R build

Lightning Fury Javazon Magic Find D2R build

MF setup for Lightning Fury Amazon that's optimized to find goodies

Lightning Fury Javazon
Amazon Magic Finding Build

For Diablo 2 Resurrected

Build Overview

Lightning Fury Javazon, despite her annoyingly high Faster Cast Rate Breakpoints (which are important for the Enigma's Teleport), is one of the most powerful end-game characters in Diablo 2 Resurrected. When properly geared, she is capable of dealing unbelievably high Lightning Damage in both single-target and AoE scenarios. Because of this, she is also a great choice for end-game Magic Finding (what she lacks in pure MF stat, she more than makes up for with her DPS).

The following Magic Finding Lightning Fury Javazon build is one of the best characters for clearing large packs of enemies and high-health Bosses (Charged Strike's damage is on par with the damage of builds specialized in 1v1 combat), which makes it perfect for doing Hell Baal runs on increased /player difficulty level. She is one of the fastest and the most universal end-game Magic Finding characters available.

 Pros  Cons
Extremely high AoE and Single-Target Damage output   Hard to balance MF, IAS, and FCR stats
One of the best builds for clearing Baal Waves   Poor FCR breakpoints will force you to make some hard gear-related choices
Great Mobility  Very expensive to build

Skills

ATTRIBUTES
  1. Strength - All you want, in terms of Strength, is enough of it to equip everything you will want to use on your character.
  2. Dexterity - Same as with Strength; you only need enough Dexterity to meet gear requirements.
  3. Vitality - You should put all your remaining points here - main stat.
  4. Energy - Adding points to Energy is an extreme waste - don't do it.
JAVELIN AND SPEAR SKILLS

This is the core Skill Tree of this Build. It provides you with two extremely powerful Skills: Single Target Charged Strike and AoE Lightning Fury - these two combined ensure that Lightning Javazon can breeze through any type of content.

Skills:

  1. Jab [1/20] - Attacks with a series of rapid thrusts using a Javelin or Spear class weapon. This is your main weapon against Lightning-Immune enemies.
  2. Power Strike [20/20] - Adds Lightning Damage to your Attacks with Spead and Javelin Class Weapons. This is one of your Synergy Skills, you should max it out after taking care of your Lightning Strike, Charged Strike, and Lightning Fury.
  3. Poison Javelin [1/20] - Prerequisite. A Thrown Attack that leaves a trail of poison clouds behind it.
  4. Lightning Bolt [20/20] - Converts your Javelins into Bolts of Lightning, dealing 3/4 Weapon Damage as Elemental Damage. Another Lightning Synergy Skill that should be maxed out.
  5. Charged Strike [20/20] - A lightning attack that releases charged bolts. This is your main melee attack. It is the most powerful Skill in the game when it comes to damage; with the proper gear, you can 2-shot Hell Baal with it. If you doubt this skill's potential because the tooltip shows rather low damage - multiply it by the number of released bolts to get a better idea of how much damage it can actually deal.
  6. Plague Javelin [1/20] - Prerequisite. Similar to Poison Javelin with an additional cloud of expanding poison at the point of impact.
  7. Lightning Strike [X/20] - Does lightning damage and releases chain lightning from the target. Yet another Lightning Synergy Skill - You should spend all your remaining points on it.
  8. Lightning Fury [20/20] - Creates a powerful lightning bolt that releases multiple lightning bolts from the target. Your main clearing ability, capable of annihilating groups of monsters with incredible efficiency. Lightning Fury has a very strong synergy with Pierce - the second release of bolts can occur if another monster or wall lies behind the original target.
PASSIVE AND MAGIC SKILLS

This skill tree offers great utility skills - both passive and active ones. For this build, we're mainly interested in Pierce that strongly synergizes with Lightning Fury, and Decoy which is extremely useful for Baal runs. As you can see down below, we have decided to skip Valkyrie. This is because we feel like the build does not really need a Tank and the 4 Skill Points needed to unlock it are better spent elsewhere. However, if you like Valkyrie, by all means, unlock it and use it.

Skills:

  1. Critical Strike [1/20] - Grants a chance to do double physical damage with your attacks. 1 Point here is enough, as Critical Strike suffers from diminishing returns. Moreover, it only affects physical damage (so, Jab stabs, damage caused by thrown javelin itself, and so on).
  2. Inner Sight [1/20] - Prerequisite. Illuminates monsters and decreases their ability to defend themselves.
  3. Slow Missiles [1/20] - Prerequisite. Slows the missiles of nearby enemies.
  4. Penetrate [1/20] - Prerequisite. Increases Attack Rating. While Penetrate does not suffer from diminishing returns, it does not affect the build's main DPS Skills. We pick it up only to unlock the next skill in line.
  5. Decoy [1/20] - Creates a duplicate image to distract enemies. This Skill works wonders during Baal runs because the AI will cast the Decrepify on the Decoy instead of the player, making the runs much faster in general.
  6. Pierce [X/20] - A chance that your missile will continue through its victim. Pierce is extremely powerful in combination with the Lightning Fury, as it allows it to deal damage multiple times. You want a 77% chance to Pierce if you run the Sharkskin Belt (which equals level 13 in total), otherwise, you might want to consider spending enough points to get a 100% chance.
BOW AND CROSSBOW SKILLS

This build focuses on Javelins, so we skip this entire skill tree.

Skills:

  1. none

Items

With this build, you should focus your gear around +Skills and Lightning Damage/-Enemy Lightning Resistance which are going to help with clear speeds. Moreover, it's extremely important to reach 52% Increased Attack Speed and 69% Faster Cast Rate Breakpoints for better DPS and faster Enigma Teleporting respectively. Achieving 75 Fire and Lightning resistance is also recommended, however, Poison and Cold resistances are not that important. Faster Run/Walk and extra Stamina/Stamina Regen are very useful to have as they will boost your overall mobility. Last but not least, you should try to squeeze as much Magic Find as possible out of your gear, without sacrificing the above-mentioned stats too much.

HELMETS

Griffon's Eye (Diadem) - This is a perfect helmet for a Lightning Fury Javazon as it not only reduces enemy lightning resistance but also boosts your lightning damage. Moreover, it increases your skills and gives you 25% Faster Cast Rate which makes reaching the desired breakpoint much easier.

Harlequin Crest (Shako) - You can't go wrong with Shako in a Magic-Finding build. It will give you a nice boost to survivability by increasing your Life and providing damage reduction, Magic Find by giving you a healthy 50% boost to it, and damage by increasing your skills by +2.

Harlequin Crest

WEAPONS

Titan's Revenge (Ceremonial Javelin) - This powerful javelin offers a very solid base damage boost which, coupled with its +4 to Javelin and Spear skills in total, results in an amazing boost to your damage. On top of that, it provides a very healthy Strength and Dexterity boost as well as high life steal and an amazing Faster Run/Walk increase.

It can give you up to +4 to Javelin and Spear Skills on top of -15% enemy lightning resistance, +15% to your Attack Speed, and a high bonus to your Lightning Damage. You can't go wrong with it.

SHIELDS

Spirit Shield (Runeword) - When in doubt, equip the Spirit Shield. It will take care of your Faster Cast Rate, resistance, Hit Recovery, and +Skills needs. What it won't give you is Magic Find. Also, Spirit Shield alone is enough to bump you straight to the 52% Faster Hit Recovery breakpoint, which is nice.

Rhyme

    • +3 To Light Radius

Phoenix (Runeword) - This powerful Shield runeword offers a solid mix of defensive and offensive stats that are going to make your Lightning Javazon better in almost all respects. Its main downside is the fact that the Firestorm cast can interrupt your Javelin throws.

Phoenix

WEAPON SWAP

Call to Arms (Runeword) - This powerful Runeword will allow you to pre-buff yourself up with Warcries (buffs persist through weapon swap). You should combine this with a Shield that gives +2 to All Skills for the best effect (we recommend any Spirit Runeword).

Call to Arms

  • Defense: Depends on base Weapon

AMULETS

A Magic/Rare Amulet with + Magic Find Affixes -  Amulets like these are a solid choice if you want to stack as much Magic Find as possible; Magic Amulets can have up to 50% MF (these are more expensive), and Rares can roll up to 35%, which makes them a bit cheaper.

Rare Amulet Magic Amulet

  • In Magic Amulets, look for:
    • Magic Find
    • + to lightning Spells
    • Resistances
  • In Rare Amulets, look for:

    • + to Sorceress Skills
    • Resistances
    • Attributes

Highlord's Wrath - This amazing amulet will give you +20% Increased Attack Speed which is extremely important for the build. Moreover, it will provide you with +1 to All Skills and some much-needed Lightning Resistance.

ARMORS

Enigma (Runeword) - If you take Magic Finding with this build seriously, Enigma is the only real choice. It will not only increase your MF stat by a lot, but it's also going to skyrocket your mobility. Without Enigma's Teleport, sour clear speed won't be anywhere as fast as it should be with this build.

Enigma

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor
  • Required Level: 65
  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor
  • Durability: Depends on base Armor
  • Jah + Ith + Ber
    • +2 To All Skills
    • +45% Faster Run/Walk
    • +1 To Teleport
    • +750-775 Defense (varies)

    • +14 Life After Each Kill
    • 15% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
    • (1*Clvl)% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (Based On Character Level)

Chains of Honor (Runeword) - If you don't want the Teleport, this Armor is the second-best option. It greatly improves your defenses by granting you physical damage reduction and +65 to all Resistances. It improves your DPS by giving you +2 to All Skills. It makes it easier to equip heavy gear by providing +20 Strength. And it also makes you a bit better at Magic Finding.

Chains of Honor

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor
  • Required Level: 63
  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor
  • Durability: Depends on base Armor
  • Dol + Um + Ber + Ist
    • +2 To All Skills
    • +200% Damage to Demons

    • 8% Life Stolen per Hit

    • All Resistances +65
    • Physical Damage Taken Reduced by 8%
    • 25% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Skullder's Ire (Russet Armor) - This relatively cheap armor is going to give you quite a lot of defense, some offensive utility with +1 to All Skills, and up to 125% Magic Find. If you plan on running a Magic Finding Lightning Javazon on a very tight budget and don't really care about clear speed, it might be worth your consideration.

Skullder's Ire

  • Defense: 634-732
  • Required Level: 42
  • Required Strength: 97
  • Durability: 90
    • +1 to All Skills

    • [1-123]% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (1.25% per Character Level)
    • Repairs 1 Durability in 5 Seconds
    • +60 Durability

RINGS

Raven Frost - We recommend this one because of its Freeze Immunity and the fact that it increases your Dexterity by +20. The latter part is especially important as it allows you to save attribute points you would otherwise have to spend on Dex to be able to equip your Javelins.

The Stone of Jordan

  • Required Level: 76
    • +150-250 Attack Rating (varies)
    • 15-45 Cold Damage
    • +15-20 Dexterity (varies)
    • +40 Mana
    • Cold Absorb 20% (varies)
    • Cannot be Frozen

Nagelring - This ring can give you up to 30% extra Magic Find and some damage taken reduction. Other than that, it's rather mediocre as you don't really need the Attack Rating, however, if you want some extra Magic Find, there's no real alternative in this slot.

Nagelring

  • Required Level: 7
    • +[50-75] to Attack Rating (varies)
    • Magic Damage Taken Reduced by 3
    • Attacker Takes Damage of 3
    • [15-30]% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (varies)

"Dual Leech" Rare Ring - A Rare Ring with Life and Mana Leech is a great alternative to the available unique D2R rings. Ones that also grant +Resistances are considered the best. We recommend this one because life and especially mana leech work extremely well on a Lightning Javazon.

"Dual Leech" Rare Ring

  • Required Level: Varies
  • Quality: Rare
    • Look for the following bonuses:
      • Life Leech
      • Mana Leech
      • Faster Cast Rate
      • Resistances

GLOVES

Chance Guards (Chain Gloves) - These Gloves offer up to 40% MF and a nice bonus to gold drop, and are generally the best Magic Finding choice for this slot.

Chance Guards

  • Defense: 67-74
  • Required Level: 45
  • Required Strength: 58
  • Durability: 16
    • +20-30% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • +15 Defense
    • +25 to Attack Rating
    • 25-40% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (varies)
    • 200% Extra Gold From Monsters
    • +2 to Light Radius

Bloodfist (Heavy Gloves) - A solid defensively focused choice that will give you +30% faster hit recovery, a solid boost to Life, and +10% Attack Speed.

Bloodfist

  • Defense: 17-18
  • Required Level: 9
  • Required Strength: -
  • Durability: 14
    • +10% Increased Attack Speed
    • +30% Faster Hit Recovery
    • +5 to Minimum Damage
    • +[10-20]% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • +10 Defense
    • +40 to Life

BOOTS

War Traveler (Battle Boots) - As far as Magic Finding-oriented boots go, this pair is the only real option for the build. From them, you'll get up to 50% MF and a high reduction of stamina drain when running.

War Traveler

  • Defense: 120-139
  • Required Level: 42
  • Required Strength: 95
  • Kick Damage: 37-64
  • Durability: 48
    • +150-190% Enhanced Defense
    • 25% Faster Run/Walk
    • +10 to Vitality
    • +10 to Strength
    • Adds 15-25 Damage
    • +40% Slower Stamina Drain
    • Attacker Takes Damage Of 5-10
    • 30-50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Waterwalk (Sharkskin Boots) - These solid boots will give you a healthy boost to Dexterity, which is great for equipping some of the other recommended gear pieces. Moreover, they increase max fire resist, which is great for Baal runs. Also, they provide a nice Health boost.

Waterwalk

  • Defense: 112-124
  • Required Level: 32
  • Required Strength: 47
  • Kick Damage: 28-50
  • Durability: 14
    • +180-210% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • 20% Faster Run/Walk
    • +100 Defense vs. Missile
    • +15 to Dexterity
    • +5% to Maximum Fire Resist
    • Heal Stamina Plus 50%
    • +40 to Maximum Stamina
    • +45-65 to Life (varies)

BELTS

Goldwrap (Heavy Belt) - The only belt that offers Magic Find works surprisingly well with this build. This is because it provides +10% Increased Attack Speed which will allow you to achieve IAS breakpoints easier.

Goldwrap

  • Defense: 34-36
  • Potion Slots: 12
  • Required Level: 27
  • Required Strength: 45
  • Durability: 18
    • +40-60% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • +25 Defense
    • 10% Increased Attack Speed
    • 30% Better Chance Of Getting Magic Items
    • 50-80% Extra Gold From Monsters (varies)
    • +2 To Light Radius

Razortail (Sharkskin Belt) - This belt is amazing for a Lightning Fury Javazon for one simple reason - it offers a +33% chance to Pierce. Because of this, you don't have to waste precious points on the Pierce Skill.

Razortail

  • Defense: 31-36
  • Potion Slots: 16
  • Required Level: 32
  • Required Strength: 20
  • Durability: 14
    • +33% Chance to Pierce
    • +10 to Maximum Damage
    • +[120-150]% Enhance Defense (varies)
    • +15 Defense
    • +15 to Dexterity
    • Attacker Takes Damage of [1-99] (1 per Character Level)

Thundergod's Vigor (War Belt) - Belts usually don't give you bonuses to Skills (this is why Arachnid Mesh is so powerful), this one, however, does... Thundergod's Vigor will give you +3 to Lightning Fury and +3 to Lightning Strike, and these are your two main Skills.

Thundergod's Vigor

  • Defense: 137-159
  • Potion Slots: 16
  • Required Level: 47
  • Required Strength: 110
  • Durability: 24
    • +160-200% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • Adds 1-50 Lightning Damage
    • 5% Chance to Cast Level 7 Fist of the Heavens When Struck
    • +20 Lightning Absorb
    • +10% to Maximum Lightning Resist
    • +20 to Strength
    • +20 to Vitality
    • +3 to Lightning Fury (Amazon Only)
    • +3 to Lightning Strike (Amazon Only)

CHARMS

  1. Gheed's Fortune -  The secret to Gheed's wealth and prosperity. Pretty much a must-have if you're after the best available charms. It adds 80-160% extra gold from monsters, reduces vendor prices by up to 15%, and gives up to 40% better magic find.
  2. Grand Charms - You can boost your DPS by getting these with + Javelin and Spear Skills (and ideally +Life). If you prefer extra damage over extra magic find, stack these.
  3. Large Charms -  Using Large Charms in D2R is not recommended, with the exception of Hellfire Torch.
  4. Small Charms - With these, you should cap out your Fire and Lightning resistances and then get as much Magic Find as you can. Small Charms give up to 7 MF each, so getting a full inventory of them is going to significantly boost your Magic Finding capabilities. If you prefer extra magic find over extra damage, stack these.

MERCENARY

We recommend picking up Act 2 Might Mercenary for extra damage bonuses. He should be equipped with:

  1. Infinity Rune Word in Elite Polearm - This is a must-have for Lightning Javazon because of the Conviction Aura it provides. The Aura reduces the monster's Elemental Resistances allowing you to break immunities and increase your overall DPS.
  2. Fortitude Rune Word in Armor - This will ensure that your merc doesn't die (it will make him almost immortal).
  3. Andariel's Visage - An extremely solid and versatile headgear that will make your merc better in all respects.
