The stats on this Staff are really something for spellcaster characters. Though because of its' high cost with all the high Runes required to complete it, it may not be as popular as it could. The bonuses to Skill levels and Faster Cast Rate can be easily matched by Heart of the Oak and Spirit Runewords, but those two will not provide such a high bonus to Maximum Life (up to a whopping 25% is just above anything else in the game, and you no longer need Strength for a Monarch so you end up with even more Vitality). You also gain higher Fire Resistance, which is considered the "most important" one in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Obsession also offers 60% Faster Hit Recovery, which lets a Sorceress character reach a reasonable breakpoint with just this item alone. Don't forget that you can make this Runeword in a Staff with bonuses to specific Skills, which can make it the best in slot weapon for those builds. Because of this, basically, any Life-based Sorceress build can use it effectively. You can find all our recommended Sorceress builds in this article.

This appears to be one of the most interesting Runewords that are getting into the game in Patch 2.4. It just might be the BiS item for a lot of Fire builds which include Fire Druids, Fire Sorcs, Fire Trap Assassins, and even possibly Holy Fire Aura Paladin. Not to mention possibly usage on A3 Merc. This Helmet offers just massive straight-up buff to all Fire Damage with two powerful mods on it: +3 to All Fire Skills and up to 15% Reduced FIre Resistance of nearby enemies. The Resist Fire Aura also boosts your Fire Resistance which is extremely important on Hell difficulty. Sadly, the Vex Rune is quite expensive because of its' presence in the widely popular Heart of the Oak Runeword, but being possibly the BiS item for certain builds, it will surely be made quite often.

Another very interesting end-game Runeword that will surely find its use on Act 1 Mercenaries and Bowazon/Amazon characters. Solid DPS bonuses from the Enhanced Damage of up to 375% and 20% Increased Attack Speed, combined with Concentration Aura, will surely make it a good alternative to other expensive Bow Runewords. It's going to be a really interesting contest between Faith and Mist in Patch 2.4. We may even see some interesting combinations with Mist and Flickering Flame Runewords on Fire-based Amazon/Bowazon characters.

The extra Resistances offered by Mist Runeword can also come in handy for Amazons, as they are often seen going pure glass cannons that render them vulnerable to elemental damage on Hell difficulty.

A very solid budget-friendly Runeword for Melee characters. Given the cost of Runes (Fal being the highest here) that can be obtained from the Countess, it offers really solid stats with good Enhanced Damage and Attack Speed and a +3 to Combat Skills. All combined makes it a very solid choice for Barbarians, but with the extra chance to Taunt enemies on Striking, it feels more suited for Act 5 Mercenary. He will be able not only to deal tons of damage if you make this RW in an Ethereal Weapon but also offer good defensive utility by reducing the number of enemies targeting your own character.

Potential builds that can use Unbending Will Runeword (mainly for the leveling and early Hell stages):

1. Whirlwind Barbarian build for D2R
2. Frenzy Barbarian Build

• +33% Piercing Attack
• +15-25% Bonus to Attack Rating (varies)
• 4-8% Mana Stolen Per Hit (varies)
• +30% Enhanced Defense
• +10 Energy
• 15% Slower Stamina Drain
• Cannot Be Frozen
• +5 Mana After Each Kill
• 15% Damage Taken Goes to Mana

Yet another low-level and budget Runeword that seems to be exceptionally good for leveling up as Amazon or possibly some Melee characters as well. Thanks to the Mana Steal, Cannot be Frozen, and additional Attack Rating, this should also help you get through mid-game and possibly get started on Hell difficulty as well. It doesn't appear to be of any use for higher-level characters and end-game content
